Occupational Therapy & Your Child

Our occupational therapists provide individualized and specialized interventions to enhance, improve, and rehabilitate any developmental, functional, and mobility challenge your child may have. We are experienced in addressing developmental delays for children from birth to preschool and school-age to young teens.

Occupational therapy for children focuses on helping them reach their developmental milestones. We do this by looking at what impacts their development: deficits in social-emotional, sensory processing, motor, or executive functioning skills.

Articulation & Phonology

Articulation is how a child pronounces sounds and words in speech production. Articulation disorders are errors in the production of individual speech sounds. Phonology is the use of the sounds of one’s language to process spoken and written language. Phonological disorders are predictable and utilize rule-based errors. AAC

AAC or augmentative and alternative communication are all ways that someone can communicate besides verbally talking. AAC includes no-tech or low-tech devices, such as gestures or communication boards, or high-tech devices, such as an iPad/Tablet with communication software installed. Auditory Processing

Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) refers to how the central nervous system (CNS) uses auditory information. Children with APD may exhibit a variety of listening complaints.
